Electric Wizard Tattoo | On Location Branding Photos
As a branding photographer, I photograph businesses on location a lot. Having photographs of your space and your process is an excellent way to show potential clients what it’s like to work with you and your business.
There’s no better way to show your audience the actual experience, that by giving a glimpse into actual spaces, the real people, and real work happening in real time.
When I photograph a business, like I did for Electric Wizard Tattoo, here in New Braunfels, my process is simple and intentional: I observe, I document, and I look for the moments that tell the full story.
The environment, the details, the flow of the work, and the experience a client would actually have.
Of course, the planning process ahead of time, helps me to learn about the business and create a game plan for the day of the branding photoshoot.
The final deliverables are a cohesive set of images that show the atmosphere, professionalism, and care behind the business — the things your potential clients want to feel before they book.
That’s what this session was about: showing what it’s like inside one of New Braunfels’ most trusted tattoo shops.
A New Braunfels Tattoo Shop Known for Cleanliness, Professionalism, and Quality Work
Electric Wizard Tattoo shop has built a strong reputation in New Braunfels for a reason.
Just a quick glance through their many reviews shows how much their clients rave about how clean and professional the shop is while also being a relaxed environment with tattoo artists that are approachable and easy to talk to.
The space feels clean, organized, and intentionally run. Spending any amount of time in this shop and it’s clear that every tattoo is done with care, workstations are clean, and the overall environment immediately puts clients at ease.
This is a big deal and really matters when you’re trusting someone with permanent artwork on your body.
The professionalism here and the quality of work is consistent. It shows in the way each artist interacts with clients, their portfolios of work and again, the raving reviews.
The Process of a Branding Session On-Location
The goal of branding sessions is to tell the story of your business.
We planned this photoshoot to include actual tattooing, but also the environment of the tattoo shop and headshots of each artist as well as group photos.
For Electric Wizard Tattoo’s session, we arrived before they opened to more easily get photos of the work environment, details of artwork and décor, and headshots.
It’s easier to have these done ahead of time before clients show up so the client experience isn’t interrupted.
Working from the session guide I create ahead of time, we easily flow through the photoshoot, making it a smooth process and ensuring we get all the photos you need.
Documenting What the Business Workflow Looks Like
Planning a branding session means understanding the rhythm of the space/work before ever picking up my camera.
I want to document the natural flow, in this case, of a tattoo appointment.
So that means conversations between artist and client, the stencil/design being placed, the preparation of each station, and of course actual tattooing!
Every business has its own process and it’s my job to learn about it from you and then to document it in ways that your potential clients can visualize themselves experiencing it.
It’s clear that every step in this shop is intentional. Nothing feels rushed or careless.
Watching the process unfold makes it clear how much attention goes into both the technical and human sides of the work, from communication and comfort to cleanliness, precision, and care throughout the session.
Final Thoughts
Branding photography is about more than having “nice photos.”
It’s about giving people a true sense of what it’s like to walk through your doors, interact with you and your team, and experience your work.
Sessions like this one at Electric Wizard Tattoo show how powerful it can be to document your business as it actually exists, the atmosphere, the care, the process, and the people behind it.
When your branding photos show that reality, the right clients recognize themselves in the experience and feel confident taking the next step.
If you’re ready to create images that do the heavy lifting for you: building trust, setting expectations, and attracting clients who already feel aligned with how you work, let’s start planning your branding session.
