I love books, I love to read, and I am so excited to share this week’s local business feature, The Book Haus!
This is our town’s only independent bookstore, to my knowledge.
On top of offering new and used books, they also host events and programs to celebrate the love of reading.
New Braunfels is home to so many unique, creative people doing amazing work!

Meet the Owner of The Book Haus
I met Sabrina Caldwell years ago when she opened the original location.
And it was so nice catching up while during the photoshoot for this feature.
If you’re a book lover and you haven’t already been here, you have to stop by.
It’s located right off downtown and there’s plenty of free parking.

Tell us about your business and what you offer.
We are a family owned, independent bookstore. We sell new and used books of all genres as well as puzzles, games, and other book-loving accessories. How The Book Haus Began
How It All Began
What inspired you to start this business, and how did it come to life here in New Braunfels?
I had just finished my degree in Education and was trying to figure out what I wanted to do now. Me and my kids are all book lovers and the only bookstore in town was the one at the library so thought we would try and see what could happen! Serving the New Braunfels Community

What do you love most about serving this community?
Everything! As some of my loyal customers know, I was in business for 5 years then closed the store to move to where my husband works as a fishing guide.
After being there for a year, I was so ready to come HOME!
The people here are like nowhere else and so thankful for the love and support they have given my little dream.

What’s something most people don’t see or know about running your business day-to-day?
Running a business, family, home-schooling a 4th grader, and life can be crazy and hard at times but coming into this little store just makes the hard work worth the hard.

What values guide the way you show up for your clients or customers?
Being kind to everyone and trying to make my store feel like you are walking into a safe, welcoming space at all times.
