The Power of Being Seen

Why Every Woman Deserves a Portrait Session This Year

Do you ever feel invisible? You’re showing up, holding it all together (barely), trying to meet everyone’s expectations, but feel like it’s all done without ever truly being seen.

You’re not alone.  So many women that I talk to express some version of this feeling.  And over time, this feeling of being invisible/not seen, makes you feel disconnected from yourself (not to mention unappreciated).

A portrait session, or at least the way I offer them, isn’t about vanity or capturing some different version of yourself, it’s about being witnessed as you are, in this season, without performance or pressure.

This alone, being fully seen, has the power to change how you move through the world.

What It Really Means to Be Seen

Being seen doesn’t have anything to do with attention, approval or being admired.  And it’s not about performing or changing yourself in any way.

This is about giving yourself permission to just exist as you are, without judgment, in a space where you don’t have to impress anyone, explain yourself or shrink yourself.

Most women don’t make it a point to put themselves anywhere on the list of what they need to take care of.

My goal with every photoshoot is to create a space where you feel comfortable to just be present.  To just show up as yourself without having to perform.  To create place where you can allow yourself to take up space and simply be.

With this intention, my job with the camera is to serve as a mirror. To reflect back your unique beauty when you are just being yourself.

Being seen in this way is so powerful. It brings confidence and reminds you that you are enough as you are.

You see your beauty and strength in a way that’s not really noticeable in the day to day busyness of life.

Your portrait session is a chance to recognize that confidence, strength and beauty, where you’re allowed to show up fully and have respect, care, and attention mirrored back to you.

Who is This For?

This photoshoot experience is for women who are ready to be seen.

This isn’t about performance or showing up as anything but yourself.

It’s for women who sense there’s more to them than what’s reflected back in everyday life, and who really need to reconnect with themselves but just haven’t had the space or capacity to do so.

A presence-centered portrait session is especially meaningful for women who:

  • Feel disconnected from their body or sense of self

  • Are navigating a season of transition, growth, or change

  • Have spent years showing up for others and are ready to take up space again

  • Feel confident outwardly, but quietly critical or distant toward themselves

  • Want images that feel real, not overly posed

You don’t need to be photogenic (Spoiler alert – everyone is photogenic!)

You don’t need to know how to pose.

You don’t need to wait until you feel more confident or “ready.”

This is for women who are willing to show up as they are and allow themselves to be witnessed with care.

At its heart, this experience is for women who are ready to stop putting themselves last. To mark this season.

To be seen as you are right now and have it reflected back to you as being enough. And beautiful.

Are you Ready?

If this sounds like a “Hell yes – I want this”, let’s get you booked!

Maybe you’re feeling a bit unsure… like sure that sounds great, but for me…really?

If this is you, I want to talk to you!  I’m here to answer any questions and assure you that, yes, this is for you!
