Why Aren't You in More Photos?

You have hundreds of photos of your kids: the first steps, the birthday cake face, the sleeping-in-the-car-seat ones you'll never delete.

Now go find one of you.

Not a selfie. Not a photo someone grabbed while you were mid-sentence with your eyes half closed.

An actual photo, one where you're really in it, holding your kid, looking like yourself.

Struggling? You're not the only one.

Most moms are the ones behind the camera. Which means most moms are the ones missing from the record entirely.

The Waiting Game

You've probably told yourself you'll do it later. When you've lost weight. When you're not so tired.

When you have something to wear. When you feel more like yourself again.

Here's the thing about later: your kids aren't waiting for it. They're growing right now, every day. They’re not waiting.

And the version of you that exists now in this season of life with them needs to exist in photos too.

The someday version of you you’re waiting for is going to miss all of it.

What Your Kids Actually Want

They don't need a highlight reel of themselves.

They need and want you in photos.

The you that comforts them, shows up for them and is their home base.

Twenty years from now, a photo of you together will matter more to them than almost anything else you could give them.

They're not concerned about how much you weigh or if your hair is done up.

They will be looking for you.

You Don't Have to Be Photo-Ready

You don't need to know how to pose.

I don’t want you to worry about a plan for your kids' meltdown, or if your partner may be awkward in front of a camera, or whether everyone will look at the camera at least once.

None of this is anything to worry about. It’s just what a real session with real kids looks like.

A good photographer directs, gets the real connections and isn’t fazed when kids and families act like themselves.

Get in the Picture

Your kids don't remember your clothing size, they just remember you showed up.

And how you cared for them.

You deserve to exist in the photos that will tell the story of their childhood too, not just behind the lens of it.

So next time it comes up, get in the picture.

You'll be glad you did.

Your children and loved ones surely will.
